We recently had a crazy summer electrical storm and there was a lightning strike to our air conditioning unit. It meant that our controller no long controlled the temperature in the house, so we were all sweltering once the weather warmed back up. Luckily, we were able to contact our HVAC installer and they had a spare control board in stock to repair the storm damage. Now we are comfortable again. This blog has some tips on how to protect your air conditioning unit from lightning strikes, as well some information about what to look for if you do suspect that your AC unit has been damaged in a storm.
